PHAMS - Maroubra
The mission of St Johns focuses on communicating the love of God in Jesus to the people of Maroubra with all its pockets and people groups. People in recovery from mental health issues are one of those groups. And so, St Johns is partnering with Anglicare Personal Helpers and Mentors Scheme to ensure that people recovering from mental illness can have good support in the community as they take their place as valued and important members of society, and come to know how much God loves them. Time with people who love Jesus who will accept them for who they are, befriend them and love them is crucial for them gain confidence in a society that can be brutal towards people struggling with mental health issues. The Phams group meets weekly in the church hall for coffee and activities facilitated by Anglicare staff.
If you want to pray for PHAMS, or be involved in meetings during the week, contact the church office on (02) 9349 2160.
